This Privacy Policy explains how ShipAddons ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use any of our Google Workspace add-ons (collectively, the "Add-ons"), our website at https://shipaddons.com, and any related services. Our Add-ons provide productivity features within Google Workspace, such as document conversion, file processing, and content generation.
By installing or using any ShipAddons Add-on, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use our Add-ons.
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide and improve our services. The categories of data we may collect include:
2.1. Google Account Information
When you authorize the add-on through Google OAuth, we receive:
- Your email address
- Your basic profile information (name and profile picture)
This information is used to authenticate your identity, associate your account with your subscription or usage plan, and communicate service-related updates.
2.2. Google Workspace Content
Our Add-ons may access content from Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or other Google Workspace applications as required for their core functionality. Content is accessed in read-only mode unless write access is explicitly required and authorized through the OAuth consent screen. Document and file content is processed in memory during operations and is not stored, cached, or retained on our servers after processing is complete.
2.3. Google Drive Files
Our Add-ons may create or access files in your Google Drive. We only access files that the Add-on itself has created, or files you explicitly select for processing. We do not browse, index, or access any other files in your Google Drive.
2.4. Usage and Billing Data
We collect information about your subscription plan, credit balance, and usage metrics to enforce plan limits and provide billing transparency. We do not collect analytics or telemetry data about how you interact with our Add-ons beyond what is necessary for plan enforcement.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect exclusively for the following purposes:
- Providing core functionality: Accessing Google Workspace content to perform the operations described in each Add-on (such as document conversion, content generation, or file processing).
- Authentication and account management: Identifying you within the add-on and associating your usage with your subscription plan.
- Plan and credit validation: Verifying your subscription status and remaining credits on the server side before processing each request.
- Customer support: Responding to your inquiries and troubleshooting issues.
- Service communications: Sending transactional emails related to your account, billing, or material changes to the service.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance
ShipAddons' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide and improve the core functionality of our Add-ons.
- We do not sell Google user data to any third party.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising or to serve ads.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the service, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale with prior notice to users.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes, to comply with law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
5.1. Document Content
Google Workspace content is processed transiently in memory and is never persisted to disk or any database. Once the requested operation is complete and the output is delivered, all content is immediately discarded from our processing environment.
5.2. Account and Billing Data
We retain your email address, profile information, and billing records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5.3. How to Request Deletion
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing contact@shipaddons.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion by email. You may also revoke the add-on's access at any time through your Google Account permissions page.
6. Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the add-on. These providers process data only as necessary to deliver their respective services and are bound by their own privacy policies:
- Google Cloud Platform: Infrastructure and hosting for the add-on backend. Subject to Google Cloud Privacy Notice.
- Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions and one-time purchases. Stripe receives your payment method details directly; we do not store credit card numbers on our servers. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel: Website hosting. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.
None of these third-party services receive your Google Workspace content. User content is processed exclusively within our own controlled infrastructure.
7. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- All data transmitted between your browser, the add-on, and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
- Google OAuth tokens are stored securely and are never exposed to client-side code.
- Server-side access controls enforce that each user can only access their own data.
- User content is processed in isolated, short-lived execution environments with no persistent storage.
- Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and is never stored on our systems.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to the processing of your personal data for specific purposes.
- Withdrawal of consent: Revoke the add-on's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions.

9. Children's Privacy
Our Add-ons are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at contact@shipaddons.com and we will promptly delete such data.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by sending a notification to the email address associated with your account. Your continued use of the add-on after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
